Click Frenzy Data Sees Rise in Mobile Shopping

Use of smartphones and tablets in shopping activity is increasing at a fast pace.  Data from Click Frenzy reveals that 43% of total traffic during the online shopping event in 2014 came from smartphones and tablets (up from 33% the year before).

  • Mobile devices delivered 20% of Total Click Frenzy Sales in 2014
  • Tablets best at converting traffic to sales

Click Frenzy is an online shopping event promoted by multiple Australian retailers in November each year, designed to encourage locals to shop more online.  Actual sales from both smartphones and tablets during last year’s Click Frenzy period made up 20.4% of total sales in 2014,  with nearly two thirds of those sales coming from Tablets.  So while nearly 1/4 of online traffic came from Smartphones, they made up only 7% of sales.  Certainly Australians are still more comfortable making their purchases on a larger screen; tablets delivered better outcomes in terms of converting traffic to sales – with tablets representing 18% of traffic and 13% of sales.
